Eating Hawaii Style - Stage Restaurant
Friday, November 18, 2011 at 04:24PM Just as promised, we are going to share one of our Restaurant Week Hawaii dinner experiences with you! We made a dinner visit to Stage Restaurant located in the beautiful Honolulu Design Center. The restaurant features a fusion of fashion and cuisine...not to mention the fusion of Hawaiian and Western influences. As a participant of Restaurant Week Hawaii, they had a special dinner prix fixe menu between November 14-19, 2011. Dinner was $40 per person and included one choice of an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Here is the menu that our group chose from:
APPETIZER (choice of one):
Hamakua Springs Tomato Salad
Spanish Onions, Haricot Vert, Feta Cheese, Housemade Crouton, Red Wine Vinaigrette
Ahi and “Pearls”
Soy Wasabi “Pearls”, Japanese Cucumber, Red Radish, Kaiware Sprouts, Orange Tobiko
ENTREE (choice of one):
Asian Style Braised Beef Shortribs
Hamakua Mushrooms, Scallion Puree, Garlic Miso Aioli, Potato Puree
Pan Roasted Island Ahi
Sauteed Hirabara Farms' Rainbow Chard, Potato and Chorizo, Herb Chardonnay Butter Sauce
DESSERT (choice of one):
Carmelized Pineapple Tart
Whole Wheat Crust & Chai Spiced Ice Cream
Manjari Chocolate
Sticky Toffee Pudding
We had four people so we took one of each choice. Better to try a little of everything and share it local Hawaiian style! Service was outstanding, everything was brought just at the right time, the servers were friendly and checked up on our table regularly. This is a great restaurant for tourists and locals alike. Before coming into the restaurant, you can check out the HUGE selection of furniture or partake in some wine tasting at their Amuse Wine Bar area.
One last addition...you must be wondering about the giant pink “blob” that is in the photo with the desserts! Our table had a sweet tooth so we added on an order of good ole American cotton candy...made fresh in the restaurant of course!
There are many more great places like Stage in Hawaii.....so many more places to explore! Our next stop will take us to Haleiwa where we will make a visit to world famous Matsumoto's Shave Ice!
